Guess the item, win a prize
A buried relic of a TV theme for an NBC pilot I scored years ago.
I love observing the unexpected results of the incoming tides. Here’s one such surprise, stumbled upon as the near-full moon drew the ocean hard against the cliffs. Guess what it is, and I’ll send you a little present from Paradise Cove.loans c aaa l lbye byes mp3 49mp3 suit 3k4am bay bridge mp3acca loan scheam study4clubbers children mp3balk mp3 3lamp3 4d cut Map

A little tough with no scale, but:
1) A kite
2) A nurse’s cap
3) A toy airplane
4) The keel of a toy boat
5) The manuscript of a TV theme for an NBC pilot you scored years ago (hey, maybe the caption referred to both the photo AND the music – you’re clever that way!)

All excellent attempts; I should indeed have included scale: the length of what you see of the white object in the photo is roughly four feet.
As for #5, I probably should have kept this clip buried! I actually like the theme, but it’s from over a decade ago and my production chops are slightly less embarrasing now. Ha ha 🙂

If not toy, why not go for part of a *real* boat? Or some kind of wave-board thingy? (Granted it’s pretty elaborate for some dinky hull or underside, but what else would have those lines?)

We have a winner!
Yes folks, that’s right: composer Steve Layton has disproved the theory that musicians are never found outdoors unless there’s free food, and, with due thanks to composer David Sartor’s toy boat musings (pre-scale, admittedly), Mr. Layton has correctly identified the underbelly of… a hull. Of a plastic kayak, the other 7 feet of which were completely beneath the sand.
In the spirit of team work, I shall send both gentlemen a little prize. Email me at helloATalexshapiroDOTorg with your address. I promise not to use the info for evil or self serving purposes.
I should hold contests more often! Fun fun fun.

Woohoo! I’d better start clearing a spot on the mantle right now!
I do see the sun and a tree once in a while; but I’ll appreciate the lines of a kayak from the *outside*, thank you very much…
